Mulier Vulnerata examines the female body as a site where violence, memory, desire, and resistance are inscribed. Combining painting with human hair, stitching, resin, and hand-embossed metal, the work moves between image and object, wound and ornament, exposure and repair.

The title evokes both anatomical and devotional language: a vulnerable woman, but also a body that survives being opened, classified, and interpreted. The sutures, fragments, and bodily symbols suggest histories of medicine, religion, colonialism, and the policing of women’s bodies, while the inserted hair functions as an intimate trace of presence and identity.

Rather than presenting vulnerability as passivity, the work treats the wounded body as an active archive. One capable of carrying evidence, transforming injury, and reclaiming authorship over its own representation.
