God

in the land of Santa Joana

In a prison cell, five women accused of witchcraft unite to defy their tragic fate, forging an unbreakable community for solace and strength.

God in the Land of Santa Joana is a gripping exploration of resilience, camaraderie, and the human spirit amidst adversity. The character arcs unfold as the women navigate the harsh reality of their imprisonment.

Patrícia's research spanned years to delve into Brazil’s complex history of colonialism, tyranny, the historical origins of witchcraft, and female persecution. Melding these historical events and her experience in thought-provoking storytelling she utilizes the drama genre to reclaim cultural and historical narratives that have been overshadowed.
